Duties
* Position involves executing each step of the Prevention process including understanding the problem, developing a comprehensive approach, ensuring quality implementation and continuous evaluation.
* Coordinate with the Prevention Lead and Deputy to establish primary prevention goals, objectives, and comprehensive approaches.
* Develop and lead comprehensive, innovative primary prevention plans and strategies, integrating activities across the socio-ecological model to address complex public health issues within the military context.
* Leads advanced research projects, employing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analysis, data analytics tools and methods to identify, assess, and address complex risk and protective factors in the military community.
* Develop, administer and evaluate integrated primary prevention activities, ensuring they are research-informed and adhere to relevant policies and regulations. Requirements Conditions of employment

A. Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, etc. OR
B. Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR
C.
Experience:
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes identifying, planning and evaluating prevention program activities to prevent harmful behaviors; recognizing existing or potential risk factors that can lead to harmful behaviors; and analyzing data across the prevention landscape and providing comprehensive trend analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education FOREIGN
EDUCATION:
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
