Patient Service Rep - FIC, Administration

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology.

Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

As Straub patients, our clients have access to over 300 specialists and all the services of Straub Hospital. Our FIC clinic provides services in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury for the entire family. Our Family Medicine physicians specialize in the diagnosis, management and nonsurgical treatment of unusual or serious diseases. Our family physicians are devoted to providing personal, comprehensive and continuing care for people of all ages in the context of the family and the community.

These warm professionals emphasize disease prevention and health promotion with a strong foundation in primary care ethics, and are often best qualified to serve as the patient’s advocate in all health-related matters, including the appropriate use of consultants, health services and community resources.

As the Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub Ward Clinic patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks. These include: interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records;

performing accurate and timely processing of all professional and technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for a sensitive and helpful individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC.
