Overview

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year and is a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care.

Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers community programs and services such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Kapi‘olani Women  OB/GYN Outpatient Clinic offers complete obstetrical and gynecological care for women and is one of the most comprehensive centers for women’s health in Hawai‘i. Services include obstetrical care, pre-pregnancy counseling, medical, dietary and social service counseling, pregnancy testing, prenatal and high-risk prenatal care, counseling and postpartum follow-up care, referral services, infertility diagnostics and treatment, family planning, annual physical exams and pap smears, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, birth control methods, routine gynecologic exams, evaluation for and scheduling of gynecologic surgeries, cyst biopsy and removal, nutritional counseling, and endocrine and teen clinics, among others.

As a Patient Service Representative in our OB/GYN Outpatient Clinic, you will help to ensure that our patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics by acting as a liaison between patients of all ages and the professional staff of our hospitals and clinics, generally by performing a combination of clerical, reception and business duties.

We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year clerical support in a position with public contact or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Health Administration or related field. Medical terminology course. One (1) year experience in a physician’s office or outpatient clinic setting.
