Compliance and Risk Management Specialist

Pay rate for this role is $65k - $72k annually, depending on experience and level of education.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week.

The compliance and risk management specialist develops and maintains systems within the organization to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports, and other indicators of risk to patients, clients, or employees. This position maintains up to date organization policies and employee training.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in a related field OR master's degree and 1 year of experience in related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience with e-learning platforms desired.
- Certification in Health Care Compliance preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and accept and benefit positively from direct supervision.
- Experience with and proficiency in the following programs are preferred:
Microsoft Outlook Office, Med Trainer or other compliance-based software, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Docu Sign, and PowerPoint.
- Maintains and keeps current the policy and procedures manual for Waikiki Health. Annually reviews and updates WH policies and procedures, ensures compliance with HIPAA, FTCA, OSHA and CMS privacy, safety, risk management and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Serves as WH's HIPAA Privacy Officer, ensures HIPAA privacy training, ensures compliance with and investigates reports of potential violation of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and WH's Privacy Policies and Procedures.
- Monitors changes in the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and other regulatory bodies, to recommend amendments to WH's Privacy Policies and Procedures, as necessary to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Completes WH's annual risk assessment and action plan, quarterly risk management assessments, provides risk management training to health center staff, submission of annual risk management report to the WH Board and Leadership team and other tasks.
- Submits annual liability insurance renewal for health center through the Federal Torts Claims Act and regularly updates MIEC (medical professional liability insurance provider) on provider status for gap coverage.
- Researches, administers and assures thorough compliance documentation with annual organization-wide training for compliance with government mandates.
- Manages daily compliance activities including the administration of incident reports, evaluation, and investigations.
- Manages Waikiki Health safety program to ensure that all locations are compliant with State and Federal safety regulations; ensures that proper paperwork and documentation is on file for inspection purposes; recruits and manages safety coordinators at each site.
- Develops and facilitates workplace violence and safety related training for WH staff
- Coordinates claims management activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
