Senior Medical Technologist

Regular Full-Time (Req# ) 8-hour day shift, 40 hours per week with alternating Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Occasional overtime may be required.

Kuakini Medical Center

Coordinates and provides technical supervision of activities of the Laboratory personnel in his/her Laboratory section such as Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Bacteriology. Assists in maintaining quality control, quality management, and accreditation standards for the Laboratory section.

Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university and successful completion of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or National Agency on Accreditation for Clinical Laboratory Scientists‑accredited medical technology program, which includes clinical training in an accredited hospital. Clinical training hours must include chemistry, hematology, microbiology, parasitology, serology, immunology/Blood Bank and urinalysis. Certification by a reputable national board of registry such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologist required.

Hawaii Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required. Prior supervisory experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
