Manager, Laboratory

Regular Full-Time (Req# )Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 24-hour on-call status 7-days a week. Periodically extended hours or a modified schedule may be required. Flexible availability is required.

Responsible forall aspects of departmental operations including bidgeting, planning, directing and staffing, for the Laboratory Department. Ensures the development and provision of departmental services in accordance with established policies,standrds and regulatory requirements.

Bachelor’sdegree required, preferably in allied health, physical or biological science. Successful completion of a National Agency on Accreditation for Clinical Laboratory Scientists (NAACLS)- accredited Medical Terminology program, including clinical training in an accredited hospital, required.

Clinical training must include chemistry, hematology, microbiology,parasitology, serology, immunology/Blood Bank and Urinalysis.

Certification by a reputable national board of registry such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologist is required. Hawaii Clinical Laboratory Technologist and/or Supervisor License is required. Minimum five (5) years experience in a clinical laboratory required. Minimum three (3) years supervisory and administrative experience required. Affiliation with managerial associations desirable; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities tomeet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.
