Virtual Environment Lead; VEL

We will support the customer goals of both modernization and standards of stability to create a dependable secure Information Technology environment. The work will be performed in Oahu,HI and other locations throughout the INDOPACIFIC Area of Responsibility.

The Virtual Network Administrator Sr provides management, direction, administration, quality assurance, and leadership. The Virtual Network Administrator Sr analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems.

• Demonstrates advanced technical expertise or certification in accordance with DoD 8140.03
• Relevant certifications in VDI and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility, Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization, Nutanix Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or equivalent).
• Expertise in at least one major VDI platform (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g. hypervisors like VMware ESXi or Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS), storage solutions (SAN, NAS), and security policies relevant to VDI environments
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Power Shell, Python, or Bash) for VDI management
• Demonstrated ability to monitor VDI performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the environment for a smooth user experience.

• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in VDI administration and management, with specific expertise in virtual systems (e.g. Citrix Virtual Apps, virtual desktops, cross domain solutions / access solutions, VDI).
• Relevant certifications in VDI and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility, Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization, Nutanix Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or equivalent). Demonstrated ‘Advanced Technical Expertise’ or certification in accordance with DoD 8140.03.

The likely salary range for this position is $144,410 - $195,378. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
