What You Will Be Doing

Provide IT support to Safeway retail grocery stores in and around Honolulu, HI and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deploying equipment, installing new hardware and software, and troubleshooting IT hardware unique to retail
  • Maintaining and repairing PCs, servers, network hardware, RF hardware, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers
  • Conducting break‑fix repair and ensuring complete recoverability of systems and applications
  • Providing network and remote connectivity support, meeting service‑level agreement goals
  • Managing equipment inventory controls and policies
  • Collaborating with the Support Center (STSC) on problem assignment and with Corporate IT groups for on‑site support
  • Driving required for the Zone Service Area
What We Are Searching For
  • Excellent telephone, customer service and problem‑solving skills for high‑pressure, remote situations
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and adapt to customer understanding
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows, Microsoft Office, and related applications
  • Strong independent work ethic and collaborative partner in a matrixed organization
  • Flexibility for a variety of shifts: day, evening, overnight, and on‑call support
  • Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability, and follow‑through
Qualifications and Experience
  • High school graduate; BA/BS preferred or 3+ years of technical/training/hardware certifications preferred
  • 5+ years of technical system experience and 2+ years technical support experience
  • 2+ years experience with retail store systems, technology systems, and hardware preferred
  • 2+ years experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred
  • Good, safe driving record and reliable vehicle required
Physical Environment
  • Work may be performed in a temperature‑controlled environment
  • Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods; may spend long periods at a desk or computer terminal
  • Use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completing job duties
  • Workday is fast paced; occasional evening and weekend work may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment and perform twisting and turning during installations
Compensation

Hourly range: $26.57 to $34.53. Starting salary will vary based on location, experience, and qualifications. Flexibility for exceptional candidates may be available.
