* This position is located on the island of Oahu and candidates must work in the state of Hawaii upon hire*

- Underwrite in an efficient and productive manner to maximize underwriting profitability and market share.
- Assigned book of commercial business.
- Servicing of assigned General Agencies.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to others developing their underwriting skills (Senior Underwriter).
- 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and internet applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent organization skills and able to prioritize task assignments.
- Experience working with Hawaii Based Agencies.
- Underwriter II – Minimum 1 year of multi-line Commercial Underwriting experience; basic understanding in at least 3 major lines of FICOH business or ability to underwrite any 2 major lines of FICOH business (WC, Property, GL, Commercial Auto).
- Underwriter III – Minimum 2 years multi-line commercial underwriting experience; basic understanding of all major lines of FICOH business and ability to underwrite any 2 major lines of FICOH business (WC, Property, GL, Commercial Auto).
- Underwriter IV – Minimum 3 years multi-line commercial underwriting experience; ability to identify applicable risks and exposures to independently make underwriting decisions and to effectively respond to specific coverage questions in all major lines of FICOH business (WC, Property, GL, Commercial Auto).
- Underwriter V – Minimum 5 years multi-line commercial underwriting experience; ability to identify applicable risks and exposures to independently make underwriting decisions and to effectively respond to specific coverage questions in all major lines of FICOH business (WC, Property, GL, Commercial Auto). Ability to handle most complex underwriting, including finding solutions for 1 major line of business or other lines of business/programs.
- Senior Underwriter – Minimum 7 years multi-line commercial underwriting experience with the ability to underwrite large and/or complex risks; understanding of reinsurance; ability to identify applicable risks and exposures to independently make underwriting decisions and to effectively respond to specific coverage questions in all major lines of FICOH business (WC, Property, GL, Commercial Auto). Ability to handle most complex underwriting, including finding solutions for 2 major lines of business or other lines of business/programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FICOH systems.
- Relationship with Hawaii Insurance Agencies.
Salary range: $53,650 to $112,810 annually (based on job-related knowledge, skills and experience). Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
