Key Responsibilities- Oversee all phases of large, complex construction projects, acting as client liaison and leading project teams.
- Engage in the Construction Management community, mentor staff, and document lessons learned.
- Support recruitment by screening candidates, interviewing, and collaborating with HR on employment offers.
- Supervise design‑phase constructability and sequencing reviews.
- Manage bid‑phase activities: pre‑bid meetings, contractor inquiries, addenda issuance, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
- Direct pre‑construction planning, approve procedures and tools, and review contract documents for construction‑phase readiness.
- Manage multiple large, complex projects simultaneously.
- Oversee day‑to‑day construction management to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule; enforce contractor compliance.
- Act as a liaison with clients, agencies, and stakeholders; represent the company at meetings and public forums.
- Monitor contractor schedules and address delays.
- Review inspection reports, material test reports, RFIs, submittals, schedules, shop drawings, change orders, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate activities across disciplines and resolve project issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce company, client, and project policies, procedures, best practices, standards, quality frameworks, and proper use of IP and reusable assets.
- Promote and ensure adherence to company and client health and safety programs.
- Oversee post‑construction closeout, including final deliverables, punch lists, warranties, and invoicing.
- Highly effective in assembling and leading project teams.
- Technical expert in all relevant planning, analysis, construction, and systems management areas and understanding of various project delivery methods.
- Accountable for making decisions on large complex projects.
- Inspires project teams to higher levels of achievement.
- Highly effective in managing sub‑consultants and equipment suppliers/vendors.
- Demonstrates technical skills in identifying scope changes and risk management.
- Holds professional licensure or construction manager certification (CCM) or the ability to obtain it.
- Degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field with a minimum of 10–12 years of experience; or a 2‑year technical/diploma program with a minimum 12–14 years of experience.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects, including Alternate Project Delivery (APD).
- Experience working on large complex projects with construction value over $500 M (transit experience preferred).
Office work with computers and periods of sedentary activity. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
CompensationPay ranges for locations where required:
- CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas – $ – $ annually.
Pay is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles may be bonus eligible and part‑time roles are pro‑rated.
