Under the direction of the Trade Services Manager, directs, leads and manages the functional activities of Bank’s international trade operations on a daily basis and works with the different lines of business and clients to ensure the most efficient level of service.
Position requires comprehensive knowledge of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Publications: UCP 500, ISP 98, URR 525, URC 522. Responsible for ensuring compliance with uniform rules, regulations, department policies and procedures. Requires accounting knowledge to ensure accuracy of accounting entries generated by the department’s trade finance system and reconciliation of the general ledger.
Responsibilities- Manages and implements trade finance processes adhering to international standards, government regulations, bank policies and procedures to minimize operational, administrative and compliance risks.
- Utilizes expertise in documentary credits, standby letters of credit, documentary collections, wire transfer to provide technical assistance and proactively identifies document risk and compliance risk.
- Plans, organizes, and administrates departmental activities, ensures accuracy of accounting entries, reconciles general ledger, submits reports for control and regulatory reporting.
- Manages training and supervision of unit personnel, maintains cross‑training program, evaluates performance and recommends salary adjustments.
- Operates bank’s trade finance system: managing customer database, account opening, messaging batching process, front‑end system operations.
- Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in banking operations, customer service skills, and supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of ICC publications (UCP 500, URR 525, ISP 98, URC 522) and U.S. Government regulations.
- Excellent computer skills, applications for spreadsheets including Excel, Word, etc. Ability to work with minimum direction, exercise sound judgment, function under “high pressure” conditions, meet deadlines. Must be available to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Trade finance products knowledge and supervisory oversight.
