Base pay range

$63,723.00/yr - $87,619.00/yr

Position Function

Responsible to oversee and to maintain the efficiency of the accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), general ledger maintenance, financial accounting, and application maintenance. Maintains and ensures compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Performs detailed accounting analyses and works with staff and departments to resolve accounting and reporting issues. Supervises the accounts payable staff. Participates in special projects in support of the Company s strategic initiatives.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Oversees Accounts Payable function, including review, approval, and release of disbursements, ensuring payments are properly approved in accordance with policy and paid timely and accurately. Supervises and participates in and reviews the work of employees preparing and processing journal entries, accruals, and prepaid maintenance.
  • Facilitates a timely and accurate month-end closing process. Assists with the review of general ledger account balances. Prepares cut-off and month-end reports to ensure reasonableness and investigates significant variances. Assists in preparation and review of performance/expense reports, account reconciliations, research, and resolves discrepancies.
  • Maintains the general ledger and accounts payable systems, including establishment of cost centers, tiers, accounts, user-defined reports, interface/mapping with subsystems and external applications, and coordination of release testing. Ensures the general ledger structure and data meet operational, financial, regulatory, and management reporting needs.
  • Administer travel management and corporate card program, including program policy and procedures, vendor communications and user maintenance.
  • Continuously evaluates and implements process improvement initiatives to streamline and automate work and create efficiencies. Participates in special projects in support of the Company s strategic initiatives to improve performance.
  • Supervise AP staff, including regular performance discussions, coaching, goal setting, and opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year university in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or financial reporting.
    • 3+ years of supervisory or 1+ years of management experience.
  • License/Certification:
    • CPA, CMA, or other accounting certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment and applications.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting and adapt to different work environments as needed.
