Transportation Coordinator – Liliuokalani Center Overview

The Transportation Coordinator will organize and support the travel to and from Liliʻuokalani Center for kamaliʻi on Oʻahu and throughout the paeʻāina. They will be a critical part of the Engagement Center team, which is designed to offer resources and services to decrease barriers to access and provide the first and last connection during a program day for traveling kamaliʻi. Along with driving and supporting other drivers, the Coordinator will assist with all transportation logistics to include communication with kamaliʻi, ʻohana, community partners and Liliʻuokalani Center teammates about transportation logistics.

Most frequently transportation is related to shuttle services to and from LC for evening programming. Seasonally, transportation will also include the coordination of flights for kamaliʻi traveling to LC from neighboring islands. The Liliʻuokalani Center Transportation Coordinator position falls within the Kamaliʻi Recruitment and Wellness team and will work closely with the Liliʻuokalani Center leadership team to ensure safety and process standards are met.

As the newest initiative of Liliʻuokalani Trust, the Center serves as a vibrant youth hub where kamaliʻi can learn, play, and build connections.

The Liliʻuokalani Center is a safe, pro‑social space where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams through the arts, sports, technology, life readiness, and wellness while receiving wrap‑around supports that help them reach their goals and thrive.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Liliʻuokalani Center Pathway program teams to develop and implement transportation plans and systems
  • Implement transportation plans for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms at Liliʻuokalani Center
  • Maintain strong relationships with community partners, ohana’s and kamaliʻi involved in transportation services
  • Serve as a primary point of contact, providing information and resources to help youth navigate transportation services
  • Assist with the opening, closing, and monitoring of facilities
  • Document program records to track metrics for transportation
  • Assist with budget records related to transportation costs, fees, and expenses
Other Duties
  • Contribute to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and collaborating as we strive to attain the Trust’s strategic goals
  • Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
  • Evening and weekend hours required
  • Other duties as needed and assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating projects or travel related systems
  • 1‑2 years of experience working with youth or youth‑centered environment
  • Valid driver’s license, clean traffic abstract
  • Availability to work evenings and Saturdays at LC (and holidays as required)
  • Able to drive long distances and provide safe transportation to and from LC for youth
  • TB clearance
