Position Title:

Clinical Nurse Educator  FLSA Status:  Exempt

Reports To:

Director of Nursing

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nurse Educator develops, organizes, and executes the nursing educational plan to ensure staff clinical competence within the nursing scope and standards of practice, organizational expectations, and compliance with Joint Commission regulatory requirements.  The Clinical Nurse Educator supports the development of the clinical staff as an educator, consultant, and change agent, empowering staff to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice and continuous professional development.

Wage Range: $75,552 - $113,283/year. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification/Licensure:
* Current State of Hawaii RN licensure.
* Current BLS certification.
* Current ACLS certification.

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Skills/

Experience:

* Two (2) years current nursing experience in an acute care setting.
* One (1) year experience in educator role in a healthcare setting.
* Excellent written, interpersonal, time management and presentation skills.
* High degree of accuracy, factual dependability and independent thinking.
* Able to conduct and develop training with a working knowledge of nursing practice, theory and CEU requirements.
* Ability to safely and effectively manage patients’ mobility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification/Licensure:
* Certified Nurse Educator.
* Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Education:

* Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education, Master's of Nursing Administration, Master's of Business Administration w/emphasis on Healthcare Management, or Master's of Healthcare Administration.

Skills/

Experience:

* Three (3) years nursing experience in an acute care setting.
* Two (2) years experience as a clinical nurse educator.
* Simulation Learning/Program Development.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS USED     Office supplies and equipment, including telephone, computer and multifunction devices (MFDs).  Google’s G Suite, report writer and database software. Electronic health record systems. Medical equipment and patient care devices.
