Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care.

Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit forms part of our Perioperative Services continuum, and provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, including ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care includes identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore the patient’s health after a surgical procedure.

If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position at Kapi‘olani’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities.

Pay Range: 53.17 - 70.89 USD per hour

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Experience with pediatric and adult post-anesthesia, sedation, and/or Intensive Care Unit. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in an Emergency Department.
