Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care.

Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Kapi‘olani Women  Cancer Center is the only facility of its kind in the state and is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulva, and vaginal cancers. Kapi‘olani strives to provide the highest level of women's cancer care in Hawai‘i and the Women  Cancer Center supports a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, addressing all aspects of a woman s treatment, from her physical health to her mental and emotional well-being.

In addition, the Center offers patients the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials in collaboration with the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i and the National Cancer Institute. Our highly qualified, multidisciplinary team includes board-certified, fellowship-trained GYN oncologists, medical and radiation oncologists, licensed and certified oncology nurses, a gynecologic oncology coordinator to educate patients and assist women through their individualized care plan, certified genetic counselors and other support services.

If you enjoy working with people and believe in warm, compassionate health care, you could be our next Nurse Practitioner in our Women’s Centers. In this role, you will deliver direct patient care, including evaluation, treatment and technical procedures to a specific group of patients, as well as provide health education, referrals to other disciplines, and consultation with other allied health personnel.

More specifically, you will play an integral role in management and follow-up care for patients that undergo breast biopsy by ensuring patients receive their results and that appropriate referrals are initiated when needed. Additionally, you will provide oversight and care for patients identified as high-risk for the development of breast cancer by providing referrals to appropriate health care providers in collaboration with the patient’s primary care provider.

You will work closely with team members from the Women’s Center, Radiology, High-Risk Breast Program, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Surgery and provide overall support of our Breast Program standards and initiatives. We are looking for someone dedicated and experienced, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.
