Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care.
Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The Resource team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions. The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to float to various areas in the hospital or clinic. If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum QualificationsCurrent Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR cards. One (1) year of recent registered nurse experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Family Birth Center (L&D)
- Mother Baby Care Unit (MBCU)
- Med Surg
- Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU)
- Post Ambulatory Care Unit (PACU)
- Women's Ambulatory Cancer Center (WACC)
with the expectation that a third unit is needed to acquire float differential and needs to be completed within one (1) year from date of hire.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
