We are seeking a passionate and experienced Beverage Program Director to lead and elevate our beverage offerings, enhancing the overall customer experience.
Job Summary: We are looking for a Beverage Program Director who will be responsible for the strategic development, management, and continuous improvement of our beverage program at Hana Koa. This leadership role involves curating an exceptional selection of guest taps, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages while fostering a team of skilled bartenders and ensuring seamless operations within the brewery pub.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a diverse and innovative beverage menu, including a wide range of craft beers, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic options.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and source high-quality ingredients and products.
Oversee the preparation, presentation, and quality of all beverages, ensuring consistency and adherence to service standards.
Recruit, train, and lead a team of bartenders, barbacks, and beverage staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Experience:
Set high service standards, monitor guest interactions, and respond to customer feedback to ensure exceptional experiences.
Manage beverage inventory efficiently, control costs, and implement measures to optimize profitability.
Stay updated with industry trends and collaborate with suppliers and chefs to create beverage pairings and special releases that complement our food offerings.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the service and sale of alcoholic beverages and health and safety standards.
Work closely with the marketing team to create promotions, events, and marketing materials that highlight Hana Koa’s beverage program.
Develop and manage budgets for the beverage program, track expenses, and report on financial performance.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the craft beer industry, brewery, or upscale bar/restaurant.
- Comprehensive knowledge of craft beer, brewing processes, and other beverages.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and budgeting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Familiarity with bar-related software and point-of-sale systems.
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server
- Current Hawaii liquor commission card
