Plumber
The Physical Plant office supports, manages, and maintains 75 acres of campus and nearly 1 million square feet of instruction space, as well as supporting every school department with vital campus services.
Punahou School is currently seeking a Plumber who, under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Supervisor, is primarily responsible for all rough and finish plumbing work. Assigned work orders can vary in volume and complexity and may include: below grade utilities (i.e. sewer, drain, irrigation, water and gas lines), final installation of fixtures and finish hardware, design, layout, and installation of materials for in-house projects.

- Work Hours:
Tuesday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM;
Saturday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, occasional after‑hours and weekend work as needed. Schedule may change based on operational needs. - Minimum hourly rate: $30.65/Hour – compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Department of Health (DOH) Water System Operator II Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of employment).
- Classification of “Journeyman Plumber” or possess comparable skill level. Journeyman Plumbing License is highly preferred but not required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of licensure.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of standard construction practices, methods, materials, equipment and safety practices of the plumbing trade.
- Demonstrated competence installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including controls, valves, pumps, equipment and related apparatus.
- Demonstrated competence operating and repairing commercial gas equipment.
- Actual experience in the use of power actuated tools and various gas/electric tools.
- Own set of hand tools (e.g., pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, etc.) as well as some power tools.
