Security Clearance Requirement: Applicants must undergo a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance is required.

License/Certification Requirements:

• Certified/licensed in pipe fitting, steam fitting, or sprinkler systems; a valid journeyman plumber’s license is highly preferred.
• Master's Plumber’s license issued by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is preferred.
• Backflow Certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembly, installation, modification, and repair of all pipes and plumbing systems.
• Maintain and upgrade plumbing equipment and piping.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on plumbing-related equipment.
• Report to the Shift Operating Engineer.
• Install and repair plumbing equipment such as water heaters, drinking fountains, toilets, sinks, etc.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience and a High School diploma or GED.
• Must meet security eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Desired/Advantageous Qualifications:

• Licensed in pipe fitting, steam fitting, or sprinkler systems; a journeyman plumber’s license is highly preferred.
• Master's Plumber’s license from Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is preferred.
• Backflow Certification is highly preferred.

Physical and Other Abilities

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet, climb ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts.
• Physical stamina for routine tasks like walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching.
• Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English.
• Recognize issues or potential problems, apply general rules to specific problems, and analyze details at close range.
