Collections Specialist

As a Collections Specialist I, you will work within our Collections department to collect on early to mid-stage delinquent loans and accounts in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

• Contact members to bring delinquent loans current and/or collect on loan balances.
• Analyze the financial situation of delinquent members and recommend next steps when arrangements fail.
• Maintain accurate files and reports by documenting all collection activities.
• Inform management of delinquency trends related to account overdraft activity, loan early-stage collections, or potential account charge-offs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• 1–3 years of similar or related experience (collections, banking, or financial services).
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks and systems efficiently.
• Strong communicator with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and persuasively.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates patience and empathy while resolving issues through negotiation and productive solutions.

Full-time (40 hours/week)

Monday–Friday, 8:30 – 5:00
