On Call Caregiver / Med Aide - PT - PLC of Hood River
Pacific Living Centers is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in‑home assistance for residents in our assisted living and residential care communities.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility as outlined in each resident’s service plan.
- Set up and administer medication when trained and authorized.
- Update resident records promptly in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Observe and report any changes in a resident’s physical condition, behavior, or emotional status to a supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment through general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and timely removal of garbage and soiled supplies.
- Prepare and cook food following posted menus and assist residents with meals and drinks in the dining room.
- Engage residents in daily scheduled activities, document participation, and support activity planning per the administrator’s direction.
- Attend all required staff trainings and in‑service meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director or team lead.
- Present yourself in a clean, orderly manner and be dependable and punctual.
- Show willingness to adapt to changing demands of the position.
- Be friendly, helpful, and respectful to residents, families, and guests, safeguarding privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor during all interactions.
- Cooperate with team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Understand Assisted Living philosophy, Resident Rights, and the Senior Housing Manager’s Code of Conduct.
- Frequent standing, walking, occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling in confined spaces.
- Lift or move residents weighing more than 100 pounds safely with assistance or equipment.
- Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Applicants must pass all required governmental and corporate background investigations, including state‑required criminal history clearance.
Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three months of related experience or training working with seniors.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers cards (obtainable during hiring).
- Completion of the pre‑service Universal Caregiver training as part of onboarding.
- Ongoing training from the Executive Director and Oregon Care Partners to maintain high care standards and regulatory compliance.
