Job Description
The Software Engineer – Embedded Networking will act as the primary engineer responsible for defining and implementing embedded communication network architectures and software in support of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) development programs for domestic and international customers. The ideal candidate will be a multi-disciplinary individual with broad development experience in embedded SATCOM, LOS, and BLOS communication networks. The candidate should be comfortable interfacing with internal and external customers, including senior engineers, project managers, customer program managers, IPT leads, business development executives, military customer representatives, and civilian regulatory authorities.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
Embedded network development and designIntegration and testing of embedded networksPerforming embedded networking research and developmentExperience with real-time embedded network developmentExperience in embedded network architecture development, including both hardware and softwareImplementation of network protocolsDerivation of requirements from high-level concepts and specificationsSoftware development using C/C++, C#, and JavaDeveloping and releasing technical documentation to meet contractual obligationsDefining requirements, synthesis, analysis, and allocation for embedded network hardware and softwareSupporting verification methodology and quality assurance developmentDefining hardware and software design and interfacesDeveloping software to support embedded network capabilitiesPerforming trade studies and evaluating network architecture alternatives, including modeling and assessment of network behaviorsConducting technical risk and opportunity analysis with mitigation and capture plansDeveloping test plans and procedures, and participating in embedded network testingAssessing protocols and standardsAnalyzing verification and validation resultsPerforming network analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human factors/human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, and system securityIncorporating regulatory and certification standards and conducting supportability analysisConducting system design reviewsQualifications
