Senior Instrument and Control Specialist (Contract Position)

Location:

Hoofddorp Office – Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)
Contract Duration:  Initial one year contract

Travel Required:

Travel to offshore assets (must have offshore certification)
Rate:  50‑60 euros per hour (based on experience) plus 96.76 euros per day spent offshore
Right to Work:  Must have right to work in the EU; visas will not be sponsored.
Responsibilities   Provide first‑line asset engineering support to maintenance delivery teams.
Act as Engineering Authority (EA3) to endorse engineering changes, maintenance deferrals, and ORAs in line with Spirit Energy’s engineering standards.
Identify cost‑effective engineering solutions to plant operations and maintenance problems.
Serve as focal point for performance monitoring and troubleshooting of Control & Instrumentation systems (HMI, SCADA, IACS, PLC, F&G, ESD).
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and reduce operating costs.
Ensure technical competence of Control & Instrumentation maintenance personnel through interviews and competency testing.
Ensure discipline‑specific engineering work (OPEX) remains within budget and is delivered on time.
Develop and optimise preventative maintenance programmes for Control & Instrumentation equipment, applying industry best practice.
Participate in operational improvement processes to optimise discipline‑specific engineering support.
Provide input to the 28‑day and 90‑day asset planning processes.
Provide engineering endorsement to proposed changes to PMRs within the SAP CMMS.
Identify and endorse shutdown activities as required.
Represent Spirit Energy as the technical representative for asset support contracts.
Liaise with other disciplines, vendor representatives, and manufacturers to ensure timely mobilisation and proper scope execution within budget.
Assist in resolving operational problems, including participation in accident/incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
Complete assigned actions (e.g., ICP, MyHSES) by set due dates.
Endorse engineering changes (MOC), maintenance deferrals, ORAs in line with authorisation levels.
Manage equipment performance, spare part management, and warranty follow‑up.
Ensure performance standards are maintained via Inspection, Test and Maintenance programmes.
Engage site execution teams in safety programmes and promote communication and understanding of goals.
Qualifications   Significant industry experience with extensive knowledge of engineering practices and legislation.
Experience using SAP, especially SAP PM (beneficial).
Must hold BOSIET, MIST and TUV Functional Safety Engineer certificates.
Demonstrated ability to manage client/operator relationships and contractors.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to drive innovative solutions.
Clear understanding of engineering principles and practical application.
Effective interpersonal skills; can interact at all levels and foster a team ethos.
