Job Description & How to Apply Below
Analytics Platform Specialist Basic‑Fit is Europe’s largest low‑cost fitness chain, with 5+million members and over 1,500 clubs. The Data Platform Team sits at the centre of our data‑driven operations, supporting Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Leadership with reliable, well‑governed data. As an Analytics Platform Specialist, you own the standards, governance, and enablement layer of our Power BI environment. This is a role for someone who takes pride in getting the platform right: not just functional, but scalable, consistent, and trusted across the organisation.
Responsibilities- Platform Governance – Define and enforce Power BI standards across data models, naming conventions, visuals, refresh strategies, and access management. Own and maintain the semantic layer and shared business metrics used across departments. Manage work spaces, row‑level security, and platform costs in collaboration with governance and engineering teams. Evaluate and adopt new Power BI capabilities, including Fabric, Premium, and AI features such as Copilot and smart narratives.
- Visualization Standards – Establish and maintain company‑wide guidelines for dashboard design, layout, and data storytelling. Review and improve shared dashboards to ensure clarity, consistency, and performance across teams. Identify and implement best practices that help stakeholders move from data to actionable decisions.
- Stakeholder Enablement – Enable self‑service analytics by developing templates, guidelines, and reusable components for use across the business. Deliver training and documentation that reduces reliance on the central data team for routine reporting needs. Act as the primary point of contact for Power BI questions, supporting both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Identify gaps in self‑service adoption and introduce appropriate guardrails where needed.
we are looking for
- Proven, hands‑on Power BI expertise – including DAX, semantic modeling, Power BI Service, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of data modeling – facts, dimensions, measures, and how they translate into BI layers.
- Experience governing a Power BI environment: work spaces, access management, row‑level security, and refresh management.
- Demonstrated ability to enable and upskill others through documentation, templates, or structured training.
- Strong communicator, able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Databricks, SQL, Power BI Fabric/Premium, or AI features within Power BI is advantageous but not required.
- Ownership – direct influence over how data is consumed and trusted across the organisation.
- Development – access to Linked In Learning and ongoing growth opportunities.
- Autonomy – the space to identify problems and improve how things work.
- Culture – informal, international, and collaborative working environment.
- Fitness – free access to a brand‑new Basic‑Fit gym, 3 minutes from the office.
