You Will Do

The HVAC Equipment Account Executive is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls HVAC Equipment offerings to mechanical contractors, designers, consulting engineers and owners. You will promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to the construction community by providing business and technical solutions and build and manage long-term customer relationships/partnerships with assigned accounts. You are responsible for customer satisfaction and loyalty while working with operations partners and positioning renewable service agreements as a foundation of managed account relationships.

You will also assist in promoting and selling Building Controls offerings in collaboration with the branch Controls sales team. This position is onsite and candidates must be commuting distance to Birmingham, AL and Huntsville, AL.

Get ready to execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships and to seek out, qualify and close new sales opportunities. Utilize applicable sales tools to plan and document progress and to increase business opportunities in accounts. Expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings sold within assigned accounts with a focus on maximizing HVAC equipment sales. Be a key member of our select account teams on key and target owner accounts.

Lead the account team on assigned target and key owner accounts where significant growth opportunities exist and more robust equipment expertise is required to solidify the opportunity and continually develop sales skills and product knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Sells Johnson Controls offerings persuasively to contractors, consultants and designers, managing multiple opportunities and, with minimum supervision, aiming for optimal profit levels. Sells, renews and expands renewable service agreements with new and existing customers.
  • Builds partnering relationships with owner construction community decision-makers. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Demonstrates technical and business credibility to earn loyalty and trust.
  • Identifies prospective customers, develops a network of industry contacts, and advances the sales process. Shares technical knowledge and business expertise to match solutions to the customer’s operational needs and differentiates Johnson Controls offerings.
  • Addresses customer objectives and requirements, links objectives to total value solutions and competitive advantage, and differentiates Johnson Controls as a total building environment supplier.
  • Writes, presents and negotiates proposals; manages competitive, high-quality estimates and cost/benefit analyses; closes sales and maintains momentum in the pipeline within the CRM system.
  • Acts as the customer’s advocate to ensure value from Johnson Controls offerings and trains customers on system operation and service value.
Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of successful HVAC field technical sales experience or 3+ years of mechanical engineering professional experience
  • Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred
Commercial HVAC industry experience

Hiring salary range: $72,000. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, location and market data.
