Radiology Technician
PRN Position Currently Available (Including days, nights, weekend, holidays)
Radiologic Technician (RAD Tech) Responsibilities & Duties
- Operate complex imaging equipment, such as X-ray, CT, and MRI machines (Prefer technician with X-ray and CT capability)
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow prescribed protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and personnel
- Assist radiologists and other healthcare professionals in interpreting imaging results
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure high-quality imaging
- Manage and archiving imaging files for easy retrieval
- Stay updated with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques
- Coordinate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Experience with multiple imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI)
- Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with patients and healthcare team
- Advanced proficiency in medical imaging software and technology
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
- Continuing education credits in radiologic technology or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations and emergency scenarios
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protection protocols
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a healthcare team
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
- State licensure or certification as required
- Proficiency in operating radiologic and imaging equipment
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Ability to follow detailed imaging protocols and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues
