Position OverviewRepairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as furnace, cranes, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.
Responsibilities- Direct maintenance employees on day-to-day operations, including work schedule
- Work with production in the event of unscheduled down time
- Assist supervisor with monitoring employee training for accuracy
- Inspect mechanical devices in operation and trouble shoot issues as needed
- Welding using oxyacetylene torch, arc welder, and MIG welder
- Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts, and re‑assemble when complete
- Examine forms and texture of parts to detect imperfections
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repair or replace defective parts
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices
- Ensure that all emission control systems are working properly, and that all federal, state, and local documentation are being followed
- Lubricate and clean parts
- Start devices to test their performance
- Work aloft utilizing aerial man lifts
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts
- Operate and perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment
- Repair electrical equipment
- Ensure proper safety guidelines are followed with respect to PPE, and other safety policies
- High school diploma or 1‑2 manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong verbal communication skill to communicate with internal and external customers
- Strong writing skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Advanced problem‑solving skills
- Advanced mathematical skills
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once
- Knowledge in multiple facets of maintenance (IE, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication, etc.)
