Staff Accountant

Overview

Celanese, a global leader in chemistry, producing specialty material solutions used across most major industries and consumer applications is seeking a Staff accountant to join our team. This specific role is assigned to work in the Finance Team that supports the Mylar Specialty Films Joint Venture in the Americas region, specifically processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as General Ledger activities.

• Ensure timely and correct posting of all cash receipts.
• Timely processing of Accounts Payable Invoices, including coordinating with other business functions to ensure validity/correctness.
• General Ledger Accounting and Account Reconciliations.
• Assistance with Internal/External Audits.
• Maintenance of Operating Procedures.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related business field.
• Knowledge of US Accounting principles.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong Computer Literacy, preferably proficient in SAP.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Self directed, ability to work under minimal supervision, self-starter, ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with different levels in the organization (peers, operation managers, senior leaders, operators etc.).
• Understanding of basic internal controls.
