We are seeking an experienced Industrial Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is crucial in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates that drive our continued success.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial and light industrial construction projects, including concrete, steel, and site work.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and required materials, labor, and equipment. Site visits may be required.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and company capabilities.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and risks within project scopes.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing databases for accurate forecasting.
- Assist in bid preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience estimating in the industrial construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of self‑performed work, including concrete, steel, and site work.
- Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software such as Sage Estimating, Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, or Pro Est.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
- General working hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- This position will be based at our Self‑Perform Shop in Hopewell, VA.
- Periodic visits to our Business Office in Richmond, VA may be required.
