The OR Scrub Tech/Surgical Technologist assists with nursing care of patients under the supervision of an OR Registered Nurse and functions as a sterile scrub person caring for patients undergoing surgery within the OR suite.

• You will utilize principles of aseptic technique in creating and maintaining a sterile field.
• Demonstrate competency in scrubbing as it relates to unit scope of care.
• Plan and provide equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.
• Promote cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the operating room.
• Work as a member of the Surgical Services team to promote teamwork.
• Demonstrate flexibility to perform other functions within Surgical Services and procedural areas.
• Participate in department on‑call assignments and cover staffing as needed.

• Surgical Technology Program graduate, or equivalent training (required).
• Certified Surgical Technologist and licensed with the Commonwealth of Virginia (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician (preferred).
