Eligibility for benefits may vary by location.
- Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures for the department in conformance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to proper sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
- Conduct routine quality assurance activities.
- Supervise and schedule personnel and provides training and development opportunities for personnel.
- Assist in the development of departmental operating and capital budgets, expend funds as authorized and monitors and controls expenses.
- Serve on hospital committees related to Sterile Processing.
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly reports related to the activities of the department.
- Receive, clean, process, assemble and distribute medical supplies, equipment and surgical instruments
- Prepare, assemble and package all medical equipment and instruments for surgery and other hospital departments
- Sterilize all reusable equipment, supplies and instrumentation
- Maintain and operate Central Sterile equipment
- Handle, transport and store sterile equipment, instruments and supplies
- Successful completion of Central Sterile Supply Certification Program
- Minimum one to two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician; demonstrated leadership experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (IAHCSMM) or Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
