Trades / Skilled Labor Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
IS Technician – Thompson Industrial Services, LLC
Join us at Thompson Industrial Services, a Clean Harbors company, to support hazardous waste clean‑up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. This field role requires a safety‑conscious team member to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Work Environment- Warehouse, manufacturing, and construction settings
- Outdoor work with extreme temperatures, noise, and shift schedules (days and nights)
- Flexible schedules, on‑call hours, and 24/7 availability may be required
- Physical demands include heavy lifting, use of large machinery, and work in confined spaces and heights
- Regular overnight travel
- Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by following policies and acting safely at all times
- Operate manual and automated hydroblasting equipment, including ultra high‑pressure pumps
- Use specialized equipment such as chemical cleaning systems, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment
- Inspect surfaces after cleaning to verify conformance to company and customer expectations
- Perform routine and required maintenance on units, peripherals, and hazardous material disposal equipment
- Maintain company equipment used on the job
- Additional duties as assigned
- Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to perform physical functions required by key responsibilities
- Acceptability for on‑call emergency response; may involve weekend, holiday, and up to 24‑hour work periods
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical examination Skills and Experience
- Vocational preparation and on‑the‑job training in safety and emergency response
- Proficient in English for safety training and emergency instructions
- Know company driving policy; valid driver’s license required for company vehicle use
- OSHA certification may be required
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation (e.g., fire extinguishers)
- May need Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
