Middle School Violin​/Viola Sectional Coach

The Blake School seeks a skilled and passionate part-time violin/viola sectional coach to support the Middle School orchestra program from January-May 2026
.

This position leads 6-8 violin and viola small-group lessons/sectionals per month at Middle School on Blake’s Hopkins campus. Blake strongly encourages applications from candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.

• Experience teaching violin and viola to middle school students (grades 6-8)
• Expertise in strings pedagogy
  , rehearsal planning and implementation
• Experience teaching both small groups and one-on-one instruction
• BA/BM required; MM preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty and administrators
• Excellent communication skills

Rate of Pay
: $55 per hour

This rate of pay includes the expected rate for this position. In making a rate of pay determination, we consider professional experience, applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on these factors, a candidate's rate of pay offer could exceed this range.
