About Horizon Allied Services Mining (HASM)
HASM is at the forefront of resource extraction in Somalia, with a focus on sustainability and safety. We are seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to plan and oversee our mining operations in Shidan, Somalia.
Job SummaryThe Mining Engineer will be responsible for designing mines, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring safety and efficiency in our mining projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mine planning and operations within East Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and oversee the design and development of mining projects.
- Ensure safety and efficiency in mining operations.
- Manage mine closures and land reclamation efforts.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Provide training and development opportunities for mining staff.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining engineering with proven expertise in mine planning, design, and operations management, particularly in East Africa.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in mining software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
