The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Director of Markets Finance and support Medica’s Joint Venture partnership with SSM Health. The position will be an integral partner to the Joint Venture business, working closely with product and market leaders and routinely engaging with external strategic partners.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for relevant financial analysis, reporting, accounting close support, forecasting, budgeting and ad hoc analyses to support the Joint Venture. The role will also involve presenting financial performance to key leadership stakeholders, helping to formulate realistic go-forward strategies including traditional at-risk products and value-based products, and taking lead on the collection and compilation of data with key cross‑functional stakeholders to execute on strategic initiatives to improve financial performance.

Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with Joint Venture leadership team to drive business growth objectives for products being offered and designed. Focus will include pricing, sales, network configuration and administrative efficiencies.
  • Own and lead forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term plan development for all business segments. Regular forecasting and budgeting updates will be made throughout the year covering the entire P&L for the Joint Venture.
  • Represent the needs and requirements of the Joint Venture to understand and influence decisions in the development of trend reporting, cost‑saving initiatives, operational and platform performance and non‑claims medical expenses.
  • Lead Joint Venture initiatives and evaluate financial performance of key decisions. Examples of such initiatives could include Affordability and Health Management programs, acquisitions, outsourcing arrangements and value-based care offerings.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or an equivalent field.
  • 8+ years of work experience beyond degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in finance and/or strategy in healthcare, insurance or managed care.
  • Experience working with capitated and value-based care models.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven experience collecting and analyzing complex financial data.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
  • Experience leading cross‑function initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to drive for results and accountability.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

This position is an office role that requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, three days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $98,400 - $168,600. While the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $98,400 - $147,525, the annual salary placement will depend on a variety of factors including education, experience, certifications, position scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market data.
