OBGYN West is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound imaging services to our patients in a private clinic setting. Our Sonographers play a vital role in obstetrical care and gynecological health; helping to diagnose and monitor conditions, assess fetal development and guide treatment decisions.
This position should expect to work primarily in our Minnetonka location, but travel to our other locations (Chaska, Eden Prairie and Waconia) is possible if needed. Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm M/T/W/F with Thursday as the standard day off. This position is a .8 FTE or 32 hours/week.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare patient for ultrasound imaging through thorough explanation
- Review patient medical history and provider's imaging orders
- Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds with quality images to complete diagnostic exam
- Demonstrate confidence and knowledge of anatomy. Use independent judgement and appropriate critical-thinking skills
- Create accurate and detailed ultrasound reports to assist providers with patient management. Verbally communicate findings when necessary
- Assist physicians with procedures when requested
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and an orderly work area
- Attend meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting, standing, walking. Frequent reaching and gripping; holding and manipulating an ultrasound transducer for an extended period of time
- Computer and monitor viewing, keyboard use
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
- Exposure to blood and bodily fluids
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Ability to comply with HIPAA, OHSA and all other applicable regulations
Work and Education
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and completion of an ultrasound program from an accredited institution is required
- ARDMS certification in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) is required
- 3+ years of experience in OB/GYN ultrasound is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39.47 - $56.65 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
