Part Time Recreation Support Staff (Afternoon, Evenings, and Weekends)
St. David's Developmental & Therapeutic Services is seeking a Part Time Recreation Support Staff for the afternoon, evenings, and weekend shifts. This role is part‑time, seasonal (September - May) with a possibility to continue throughout the summer.
CompensationCompetitive pay ranging from $16 - $17 per hour, depending on shift commitment.
Schedule & Shift Options- Adventure Locations: 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM
- Venture Forward Locations: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Monday - Friday availability, 5 to 25 hours per week.

The Therapeutic Recreation Support Staff provides services to participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a variety of therapeutic recreational activities in a group setting within the community. Activities include outings such as swimming pools, amusement parks, museums, nature centers, theaters, and more.
Position OverviewSupport Staff will provide a safe, structured environment to build friendships, encourage physical and social activity, become involved members of the community, and embrace health and wellness. Staff are responsible for up to 3 participants with disabilities at a time. Responsibilities include providing care to participants, monitoring and ensuring safety, integrating into group social settings, assisting with community engagement, promoting developmentally appropriate activities, positive behaviors, and encouraging peer interactions.
JobQualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record (applicable to candidates 18 years of age or older only)
- Applicants must have the ability to use clear and understandable written and verbal English
- Ability to learn and perform procedures for the care of an individual with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Preference may be given to individuals with experience, training, or credits in high school/college level therapeutic recreation, recreation and leisure studies, social sciences, education, health care and/or human services.
- No experience with people with disabilities is required; however, a desire to work with people and a willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience with individuals with disabilities highly desired.
