Software Engineer 1 (Java Spring Boot, Microservices)

Essential Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, operate and maintain products and services.
- Take full stack ownership by writing production‑ready, test‑able code.
- Create optimal designs that adhere to architectural best practices, while considering scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Analyze failures, propose design changes, and drive operational improvements.
- Make sound design and coding decisions keeping the customer experience in the forefront.
- Respect feedback from code reviews and apply changes to meet standards.
- Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
- Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
- Requires GSA background check clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Two to three years of relevant experience.
- Adept with agile software development lifecycle and Dev Ops principles.
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Proficient with Java Spring Boot.
- Experience building REST‑API and microservices from scratch.
- Knowledgeable about containerization—Docker, Kubernetes, Istio.
- Experience with open‑source streaming—Kafka.
- Experience with open‑source databases—Postgre
SQL, Cassandra. - Experience with open‑source flow‑based frameworks—Flink, NiFi/Airflow.
- React
JS for web development (good to have). - Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Salary Range$92,820.00 – $ (may vary by location and role).
