Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a contract opportunity based in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting specialist who can manage core bookkeeping functions with accuracy, maintain organized financial records, and help keep reporting and payment processes on schedule. The position requires someone comfortable working independently, handling multiple priorities, and using Quick Books to oversee essential financial activity.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle, including maintaining financial records and ensuring transactions are entered accurately in Quick Books.

- Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and monitor outstanding obligations to support efficient accounts payable operations.

- Prepare customer billing, record incoming payments, and follow up on open balances to keep accounts receivable current.

- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements regularly to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate reporting.

- Administer payroll activities with close attention to timing, deductions, and record accuracy.

- Calculate and track sales commissions based on established guidelines and payroll or payment schedules.

- Assist with month-end financial tasks by reviewing account activity, organizing documentation, and supporting reporting needs.

- Maintain confidential accounting information and ensure files, records, and supporting documents are kept orderly and audit-ready. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in full charge bookkeeping or a closely related accounting role.

- Hands-on experience using Quick Books for daily bookkeeping and financial record management.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.

- Ability to manage multiple accounting responsibilities independently while meeting deadlines.

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data entry and recordkeeping.

- Solid understanding of general bookkeeping principles and standard accounting practices.

- Strong organizational and communication skills to support coordination across financial activities.
