- Associate Degree (equivalent experience could be substituted for the degree)
- Proficient computer skills, especially Word, Excel, and JD Edwards
- One to three years experience in Safety, Environment and Health, SARA Title III, Title V permitting, Hazardous Waste
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Understanding of ISO 14001 Guidelines

- Assist in conducting safety training for new hires and other safety training including yearly compliance training
- Assist in ensuring OSHA compliance with applicable programs including lockout tagout, forklift operation, confined space, electrical safety, respirators, blood borne pathogens, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, hearing conservation, etc.
- Manage recycling program
- Help facilitate plant emergency action plan including fire evaluation chemical and other foreseeable emergency type situations
- MSDS management
- Assist in Hygiene testing
- Oversee Workers’ Compensation program
- Creates and conducts safety program that includes safety team creation and management to drive positive safety changes
- Manage ergonomics including workstation analysis countermeasures
- Conducting necessary training and audits for 5S
- Assist in managing the ISO 14001 system for the plant
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Ensure that accident reports are being completed and countermeasures implemented as necessary
- Generate reporting of all activities for management
- Ensure “Hot Work” system is being followed as necessary
- Address facilities related insurance issues as they arise
- Accompany Federal, State and Local Safety, Health and Environmental inspectors when they come onsite
- Address “off shift” issues regarding safety/security/environmental
