Base

pay range

$16.50/hr - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and in other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cash registers.
  • Customer

    Experience:

    Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues and answering questions.
  • Operations: Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient data, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including calls to physicians.
  • Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assist in inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing pharmaceutical shipments and handling claims for overages or shortages.
  • Assist pharmacist with clinical services including collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination of clinic services.
  • Help build and maintain relationships with the local medical community and support pharmacy department promotions.
  • Maintain the pharmacy department’s appearance, cleanliness, and supplies.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated education program or required state certification/registration.
  • Attend training requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits to stay current on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, weighing medications.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
