As a Tool and Die Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly and safely. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing metal stamping and aluminum stamping dies to ensure maximum performance, precision, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform die maintenance and repairs on metal stamping and aluminum stamping dies
- Troubleshoot die-related problems and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- TIG weld components as needed to repair or modify dies
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems related to die operations
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on dies to extend their life and improve production output
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve die performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with a high level of accuracy
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance work
- 3-5 years of hands-on die maintenance experience in metal stamping or aluminum automotive manufacturing
- Strong TIG welding skills for precise repairs and modifications
- Solid understanding and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Expert knowledge of all aspects of die maintenance, including troubleshooting, disassembly, reassembly, sharpening, and fitting
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed
- Proven track record of reducing downtime and improving die performance
- Passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways to get the job done
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well across departments
