Transport Nurse Assistant: LPN (10-month)
Type of Position: Part-time (.625 ~25 hours/week), school year position; anticipated immediate start; salary commensurate with experience (range $35.00-$40.00/hour)

The Transport LPN provides medical monitoring and care to medically fragile students while being transported to and from school and related educational programs. The nurse ensures student safety and well-being during transit and responds appropriately to medical needs or emergencies in accordance with individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and district protocols.
Qualifications- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Certified as CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
- Commitment to remain current in field knowledge, evaluation and counseling strategies.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state licensure requirements.
- Ride to and from out of district placement, both morning and afternoon to provide medical support if needed to a student. Start and end will be in Hopkinton.
- Provide health monitoring of medically fragile students during transportation times to and from school.
- Administers doctor-approved medication to students, and keeps records of administration.
- Contact with family and district during an emergency situation.
- Other duties as required.
Work involves student interaction, and is performed primarily on transportation vehicles, both within and outside of the district as assigned.
