Pay

Riverside Services offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment, ranging from heavy construction machinery to small landscaping tools and vehicles. This individual must have their own tools, the ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage repairs effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain:
    • Heavy construction equipment (loaders, skid steers, sweepers, etc.)
    • Small landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.)
    • Company vehicles (trucks, trailers, etc.)
  • Prioritize repairs and manage workload based on operational urgency and safety.
  • Order parts and manage inventory to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide occasional guidance to junior mechanics or operators on proper equipment use and maintenance.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a mechanic (fleet, heavy equipment, or automotive).
  • Strong diagnostic skills across gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Must provide own professional-grade tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in ordering parts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
