Pet Vet Care Centers’ Raintree Veterinary Center is currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team.

Position OverviewThe veterinary assistant supports veterinarians and technicians by maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising, grooming patients, preparing surgery suites, restraining patients, and performing clerical work. The role delivers quality care for all patients and provides exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide compassionate care to all patients
- Greet patients and owners; show them to the exam room and record vitals
- Triage patients and perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medication under the direction of veterinary technicians
- Calm and soothe anxious patients
- Assist with medication administration and patient restraint
- Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
- Operate and maintain equipment such as EKG, fluid pumps, syringe pumps, scales, and monitors
- Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, and maintain documentation of controlled drugs
- Feed patients and record appetite; monitor for abnormal conditions
- Communicate positively with clients and explain insurance, wellness, and medication plans
- Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety; sanitize equipment and facilities; perform laundry
- Provide overnight care and grooming for patients
- Follow hospital safety and wellness regulations
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Show reliability and attend all scheduled shifts
- Promote hospital products and services and support the organization
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, including specialty area tasks (e.g., dentistry, surgery, emergency)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of small animal veterinary experience assisting technicians and veterinarians with outpatient appointments
- Experience with pre‑ and post‑surgical care and recovery monitoring
- Strong rapport and emotional support skills
- Good animal restraint and safety judgment
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Dependability and clean, organized work habits
- Technical proficiency with equipment maintenance
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Thursday coverage for PTO as needed
- Planned PTO communicated 5+ weeks in advance
