Maths Teacher SEN School (SEMH Needs)
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN school supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by helping them build confidence, resilience and academic progress within a supportive and nurturing environment.
The RoleYou will deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, many of whom may have additional learning needs, Autism, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours or gaps in education. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships, create a calm and structured classroom environment, and support students both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual learner needs
- Support students with SEMH needs to re‑engage positively with education
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
- Manage behaviour positively using restorative and trauma‑informed approaches
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets and student reviews
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and external professionals
- Support students emotional wellbeing alongside academic development
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
- September 2026
- Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 level
- Experience working within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings desirable
- Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Patient, adaptable and resilient approach
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve success
- Small class sizes and high levels of classroom support

- Ongoing CPD and SEN/SEMH specialist training
