SEN Nurture Teacher – Immediate Start Available

Primary SEN School | Horley

A welcoming and well-established Primary SEN school in Horley is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Nurture Teacher to join their supportive team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential in a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday | 8:15am – 4:45pm

As part of a caring and collaborative school community, you will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging curriculum to primary-aged pupils within a nurture setting. You will teach a range of subjects across the primary curriculum, adapting lessons to meet the individual needs of learners with Special Educational Needs.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic progress and personal development.

  • Support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours.

  • Develop positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and independence.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral staff, and senior leaders to support pupil outcomes.

  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.

  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Previous experience working within an SEN setting is essential.

  • Experience teaching primary-aged pupils.

  • Confident delivering the primary curriculum, including English and Maths.

  • Strong understanding of SEND and effective strategies to support learners with additional needs.

  • Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching and behaviour management.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
