Hays Education are proud to be supporting a well-established specialist SEN school in the Horley area in the recruitment of a passionate and dedicated SEN English Teacher.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment that supports students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, alongside additional learning needs. The Role:

As an SEN English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to small class groups.
  • Support students who may have experienced barriers to learning with mainstream education.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning, social, and emotional needs.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff.
  • Monitor progress against individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes.
  • Inspire students to develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication.
The Ideal Candidate :

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Understands the challenges faced by students with SEND, SEMH or associate needs.
  • Is resilient, patient and passionate about inclusive education.
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with young people.
  • Is committed to raising aspirations and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
