Job responsibilities

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the hospital maintenance tasks are completed as part of a team, and work is prioritised accordingly. You will conduct repairs, and work through job lists which also include working with external contractors and completing audits. As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

  • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users.
  • Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
  • Reporting all faults and defects to management.
  • Participating in a 1 week retaining on‑call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance issues that arise.
  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing all paperwork and tool checks.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Comply with system and procedures.
  • Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
